About me

Hello, I am Belinda Verhagen, born and raised in The Hague and founder of Bureau Meander. As an applied psychologist, I value working from kindness, connection, humour and trust.

My expertise lies within occupational psychology and organisational behaviour, with years of experience in coaching and developing work initiatives that increase employee wellbeing. I gained this experience within an international and educational working environment. My strength lies in being able to shift quickly and offer a different perspective on existing situations. However, I do not focus exclusively on organisations, I also coach individuals with various life-changing issues.

I enjoy working with organisations that want to invest in the wellbeing and work happiness of their employees. My services include providing information, coaching sessions, advice and developing and delivering training courses.

In coaching conversations, the focus is on creating valuable relationships, where own input is welcome. This is essential to having meaningful coaching conversations. My approach is friendly, clear and attentive to the humane dimension.

To keep my knowledge up to date, I am a member of the Dutch Professional Association for Applied Psychology, the Work Happiness Network and the HappinessBureau's CHO Expert Group on Work Happiness. My services are available in both Dutch and English

Coaching conversations

In a world that often feels black and white, I find it valuable to add nuance. Humans and human interactions are a variety of colours and I love to explore this. My interests lie in the entanglement of thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours that make us human and how these factors affect our wellbeing. I strongly believe in the power of vulnerability in improving both personal and professional wellbeing.

Life-defining events, such as relocation, illness, loss of income and other unforeseen circumstances, can affect and shape us all. In such moments, the crucial question looms: how do you navigate through these changes? What path do you choose and how do you rediscover yourself in the midst of this new situation? How do you regain control of your own life?

A conversation with a professional will help you gain insight and clarity into your own thoughts, behaviours, feelings and emotions to enable you to move forward.

Organisations

In 2022 in the Netherlands, 1.6 million workers experienced complaints related to work stress, representing an increase from 2021 when 1.3 million workers experienced such problems.

Promoting employee wellbeing is a widely recognised and significant issue within organisations, which is not surprising given the figures available. It is becoming increasingly crucial for organisations to actively incorporate employee wellbeing into day-to-day management and policies. Where do you start and how can you approach this? Questions we can answer together based on what is needed within the organisation.

Proactively addressing wellbeing issues and providing tailored support not only help prevent absenteeism but also reduce the costs associated with sickness absence. It also promotes a positive working environment where employees thrive, feel valued and engaged, resulting in long-term commitment to the organisation. It creates a win-win situation for both employees and the organisation.

Bureau Meander guides and supports organisations in the field of staff wellbeing. From the perspective of positive psychology, focuses on understanding and promoting positive emotions and organisational factors that enable employees to develop and increase wellbeing. Bureau Meander collaborates with other professionals where necessary.
